Energy Body Maps
Along with the Energy medicine course material I have been looking at various “maps” of the anatomy of the energy body and it has proved very, very tricky to get all versions to correlate. There seems to be quite a lot of differing opinions about the chakras and their number, positions, functions, colour, meanings and the movement of ki around the body through various different channels. I was hoping to find a “definitive” guide but it seems that because of differing perceptions and biases that this isn’t possible at present. I don’t want to go blindly on what other people are telling me but find out what is true for myself, to test my experience against the various models. But now I realise my own experience will depend on my own perception and how sensitive I am to the energies and the more sensitive one becomes the more one can perceive. It’s a bit like waggling my ears. Once I thought that waggling my ears was impossible. I tried and tried but they just wouldn’t budge. But now I can waggle them with ease. I suppose it’s the same with energy perception and understanding that it gets easier with time and the channels for perceiving it in different ways through touch, sight or smell etc get easier with time too. I have certainly found that doing the breathing exercises we have been given on the course have made me more aware of the chakras opening. Danny and I played a great game the other night when I would concentrate on opening one of my chakras and he would see what colour was appearing. He proved to be amazingly accurate. I found it easier to project the colours without actually visualizing them as visualizing can produce a lot of mental energy which seems to be yellow. Instead I started to just concentrate on opening the chakras and “feeling” them open and the colours appeared as a result. It was great fun! I have found a great couple of websites here and here that give a lot of info on the energy fields. The first one discusses the various traditional views and compares them which is really useful. The other one gives some interesting thoughts on the dimensions and meanings of each layer. All in all it’s fascinating stuff. If you know of any good resources relating to the energy fields please could you comment on them here?

Energy Field Therapy Course
I am now into the second month of my Energy Field Therapy Diploma and we just did the second module last weekend. I am SOOOOOOOOOO excited about this I feel like I want to jump up and down and dance! As we are at the beginning of the course we are just learning how to become aware of the human energetic field; all it’s structure and energy flows. It’s slow going because there is so much to learn and lots to remember! We have been given lots of exercises to do in between the modules so there is plenty to be getting on with each day. We have only just begun to learn how to scan the energy field and find out what it feels like with our hands - what the different qualities of energy are like - hot, cool, rough, smooth, tingly, spiky, grainy and so on. I can’t wait for us to move onto the learning of actual healing techniques. Some of the things that Sue our tutor was telling us about the potential of this healing modality really blow my mind. I feel really honoured and priveleged to be on this course and learning from such an accomplished teacher who is there to pass on this precious knowledge which is so profoundly useful that is would be a terrible waste not to share it with others. I am SO looking forward to be able to develop my own slant with these healing methods and find ways of helping people be more fully creative as well as healed and whole. I don’t think it’s really possible to separate creativity from wholeness and healing - they are so interconnected - like all things. I will keep you posted on my progress.
